Yield ปี 2568 อย่างน้อยปีละ 3% แนะนำ BJC CPF AP HMPRO OR

Daily top picks

Swing, no new catalyst

The SET is expected to swing as there is no progress in talks between the US and China, with Trump claiming progress and China says no way. Two large-caps will release 1Q25 earnings today, PTTEP and DELTA, which may cause more fluctuation. Support is between 1135-1130 and resistance at 1155-1160.

Today’s highlights

• China's Ministry of Commerce says the US needs to cancel all unilateral tariffs if the US wants to seriously resolve issues. The ministry also denied rumours about progress in negotiations.
• The Ministry of Commerce reports a rise in March export value of 17.8% YoY, higher than market expectations, marking the 9th consecutive month of growth and setting a new record at above US$29bn. This resulted in 15.2% YoY growth for 1Q25.
• Foreign investors had a net purchase of Bt70bn in Thai debt instruments in 3M2025, reversing the 2024 outflow of Bt68bn in a flight to safe assets.
• The SEC is currently reviewing applications for 37 ThaiESGX funds from 19 asset management companies. Trading is expected to begin on May 2, with the ability to transfer from LTFs.
• The TNSC expects orders to drop sharply in 2H25, as some Thai exporters are preparing to stop accepting orders from US partners as profit would be insufficient to cover the higher taxes. Customers are shifting the tax burden to exporters. Exporters have no plans to invest in the US or import raw materials from the US, citing cheaper import sources elsewhere.
• The TAT faces a severe crisis as Chinese outbound tourism recovers to 155mn travellers this year, matching pre-COVID 2019 levels, but many are choosing not to visit Thailand due to safety concerns. Numbers could drop from 10mn to 4-5mn visitors. The TAT is adjusting strategies to target high-growth markets both nearby and distant to compensate for the decline in the Chinese market.
• OFFO reduced the Oil Fund contribution by Bt0.40/liter to maintain retail prices, affecting fund inflows by Bt40mn/day, leaving Bt326mn/day. The Oil Fund's latest status shows a deficit of Bt52.51bn, with the oil account deficit at Bt7.02bn.

Strategy today

In the short term, the SET is expected to be volatile with cautious trading as investors remain concerned about Trump’s tariffs and are watching for negotiations between the US and China. If the situation is left unresolved, it will pressure world economic growth and investment in risky assets. Domestically, there is no new catalyst. We are following Thailand’s trade negotiations with the US, which is expected to take 2-3 months. Our investment strategy remains "Selective Buy".

Trading today

The SET is expected to be volatile with cautious trading due to trade war uncertainties. Watch for negotiations between the US and trading partners, especially China. Our investment strategy recommends "selective buy" in two main themes and one trading theme with specific positive factors:
1. Stocks expected to be targets of ThaiESGX: 1) 2025 profit expected to grow, 2) strong financial position and 3) steady dividends with yield of at least 3% - on SET50 are ADVANC, BBL, BDMS, CPALL and PTT and on SET100 are BCH and BTG.
2. Undervalued stocks with PER and PBV 2025F below -1SD and SETESG Ratings between A-AAA, 2025 profit expected to grow, strong financial position and steady dividends with 2025 dividend yield of at least 3% - BJC, CPF, AP, HMPRO and OR.
3. Trading idea: For high-risk-takers who want to speculate during the escalation of the trade war, we suggest stocks whose revenue is predominantly domestic, are able to set prices and pass on costs, and benefit from lower oil price and interest rate – BCH, CPALL, CPAXT, GULF, MTC, OR and TRUE. We recommend avoid sectors that are directly affected via exports to the US: electronic components, automotive, rubber, agricultural products and jewelry, and those who are indirectly affected through a troubled trade climate: industrial estates, tourism and banks.

Daily top picks

GPSC: Price has short-term catalysts from a decline in natural gas price and in bond yield. 2025 core profit is expected to grow 3.9%, driven by capacity expansion, selection for renewable energy project phase 2.1 and no impact from global minimum tax.

KTB: Our top pick in the banking sector. The bank has the lowest quality asset risk vs peers as it has the lowest loans directly related to US exports and high LLR coverage. Dividend yield is seen as attractive at 7.7%. It is also a target for ThaiESGX funds, with SETESG rating of AAA.
