3Q25: In line with market estimates

3Q25 net profit was in line at Bt1.3bn, -10% YoY and -7% QoQ. In Oct to date, SSS at HomePro has fallen in the high single digits YoY (vs -5.5% YoY in 3Q25), off last year’s high base from post-flood sales, but SSS is set to improve gradually from new stimulus in Nov-Dec. HMPRO is trading at 14.7x 25PE (sector’s lowest), reflecting low market expectations for its 4Q25F. We still like HMPRO for 2026F growth off its low base from SSS contraction over the past 9 quarters. Approval of new shopping tax break would be a ST catalyst. We maintain Outperform, with a new mid-2026 DCF TP of Bt8.2 from Bt9.2 (WACC 7.1%, LT growth 1.5%), after cutting our SSS, and thus forecast by 3%.

3Q25 net profit was Bt1.3bn, -10% YoY and -7% QoQ, meeting market estimates. The drop YoY reflects lower sales and weaker EBIT margin. The drop QoQ was seasonal.

3Q25 highlights. Revenue fell 2% YoY, with SSS contraction outpacing the YoY greater number of stores. We estimate a contraction in SSS of 5.5% YoY in the HomePro format (80% of sales) vs -5.8% YoY in 3Q24 and -9.0% YoY in 2Q25, and flat YoY in the MegaHome format (17% of sales) vs –1.4% YoY in 3Q24 and -3.9% YoY in 2Q25. SSS was eroded YoY by fragile consumer sentiment and weak purchasing power but improved QoQ from better sales of cooling appliances (25% of sales) as weather patterns returned to normal YoY (vs heavier rains YoY in 2Q25). In 3Q25, it opened four new stores (three HomePro stores in Bowin, Mae Sai, and Bangna-Trad, and a Mega Home store in Mae Sai) but closed a HomePro S store at Market Place Nanglinchee after expiration of the lease agreement, ending with 139 stores (+5% YoY and +2% QoQ). Gross margin fell 30bps YoY to 26.8% from a drop in trade volume discounts received upon purchases, aligning with the overall decline in sales. EBIT margin fell 80bps YoY on: 1) a lower gross margin; 2) higher SG&A/sales (+70bps YoY, with SG&A up 1% YoY on higher personnel and marketing expenses amid 2% lower sales YoY); 3) stable other income (flat YoY) from fewer co-promotions with vendors, amid slightly higher rental income (+2% YoY) from higher rental rate on leased spaces in HomePro stores and Market Village malls.

Earnings revision and outlook. We cut our 2025F by 3% to factor in a more conservative assumption for SSS at a contraction of 6.3% YoY (from -5.3% YoY earlier). In the first three weeks of October, we estimate a deeper contraction in SSS in the high single digits YoY in the HomePro format and mid to high single digits YoY in the MegaHome format (vs -5.5% YoY and flat YoY in 3Q25), off last year’s high base from a boost to sales after flooding in the north (i.e., Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai) and south (i.e., Hat Yai). However, SSS is expected to improve gradually in late 4Q25 from better sentiment and purchasing power from new stimulus (a state welfare card top-up and Khon La Khrueng Plus aimed at boosting the grassroots economy in Nov-Dec 2025). Valuation wise, HMPRO is now trading at 14.7x 25PE (sector’s lowest), reflecting low market expectation for 4Q25F growth (down YoY as lower SSS and margin will outpace store expansion, but up QoQ on seasonality). We still like HMPRO for its 2026F core earnings growth (+9% YoY), off a low base with SSS contraction over the past nine quarters, since 3Q23. Any new government stimulus, such as shopping tax breaks (recent measures seen in Jan-Feb 2025), will be a short-term catalyst.

Key risks are changes in purchasing power and new government policies. Key ESG risks are energy & waste management, sustainable products (E) and product quality management, labor practices and data privacy (S).
