CBG reported 2Q25 net profit of Bt800mn (+15.9% YoY and +5.3% QoQ) in line with estimates, backed by higher domestic energy drink sales both YoY and QoQ, led by a new high for market share in June at 26.5%. In the second half, we expect 4Q25 to be the best quarter for domestic energy drink and distribution revenue plus recovery of overseas sales after a drop in 3Q25 in Cambodia. This drop has led us to cut 2025 revenue and net profit by 2%, with adjusted net profit still growing 12.4%. We maintain Outperform with a 2026 TP of Bt67 based on PE target of 19.5x (-1.75 SD 5-year PE). 1H25 DPS is Bt0.70, XD Aug 21.
2Q25 net profit in line. CBG reported 2Q25 net profit of Bt800mn (+15.9% YoY and +5.3% QoQ) in line with INVX and consensus forecasts. Revenue grew 12.6% YoY and 4.7% QoQ, backed by strong domestic energy drink sales growth of 19%YoY and 3%QoQ, while overseas sales slid 2% YoY but grew 9% QoQ after a change in transport to Cambodia towards the end of the quarter. Average gross margin softened YoY and QoQ to 27% versus 27.7% in 2Q24 and 27.4% in 1Q25 from higher sugar taxes while other raw material costs remained in line. This brought 1H25 net profit to Bt1.56bn (+18.3%).
Uptrend in domestic energy drink market share. CBG achieved a new high for its domestic energy drink market share of 26.5% in June, up from 25.1% in May. Market share grew in all regions with good sales momentum continuing in early 3Q25. It expects 3Q25 domestic energy drink sales to again grow both YoY and QoQ. CPG is standing by its yearend market share target at 30%; we estimate 27% at best.
Cambodia sales will slip in 3Q25. Because of the situation at the border, CBG has switched to shipping merchandise to Cambodia by sea, which takes a few days longer but lots are larger. Even though Cambodia’s movement to ban Thai products is not yet severe, though this is expected to be temporary. This plus the slowing economy in Cambodia leads CBG to expect a 20% QoQ fall in sales in Cambodia in 3Q25. The commercial startup of its plant in Cambodia in December will reduce export risk.
Adjust 2025F slightly with 4Q25 recovery. We expect 4Q25F to be another good quarter, supported by growth in energy drink sales and in third-party distribution. In 3Q25, growth in domestic energy drink sales will be offset by a drop in overseas sales, while gross margin will improve slightly. All told, we have decided to inch down our 2025 revenue and net profit by 2% to reflect the situation. This still gives net profit growth in 2025F of 12.4% to Bt3.19bn. In 2026F, we assume overseas sales will be smoother after two new plants in the target countries start full operations. Note that we have not included new sales in China.
Risks and concerns. CLMV economies and policy changes, swings in raw material prices and cost of goods sold (aluminum, sugar, natural gas and electricity) and weaker domestic consumption. ESG risk: Energy management (E), Customer welfare (S).
