3Q25: Beat estimates
AH reported a 3Q25 net profit of Bt212mn, up 3% YoY and 96% QoQ, 12% above market consensus. The profit growths both YoY and QoQ were driven by a wider gross margin, lower interest expense and lower tax expense. While the economic uncertainty leads us to take a cautious view on the auto industry, we expect the low valuation at 5x 2026 PE and high dividend yield at 5% on 2H25 operations and 8% in 2026 will support price downside. We rate Neutral with a mid-2026 TP of Bt15, based on 6.2x PE.
3Q25: Beat market estimates. AH reported a 3Q25 net profit of Bt212mn, up 3% YoY and 96% QoQ, 12% above market consensus. The profit growths both YoY and QoQ were driven by a wider gross margin, lower interest expense and lower tax expense.
3Q25 highlights:
- OEM parts sales (73% of sales) were flat YoY but slipped 3% QoQ to Bt4.5bn. For operations in Thailand (47% of sales), AH reported a 7% YoY drop, aligning with the weaker Thai auto production. Sales from operations in Portugal (19% of sales) grew 15% YoY and in Malaysia (2% of sales) grew 32% YoY while operations in China (6% of sales) fell 2% YoY. Car dealership sales (27% of sales) dropped 20% YoY and 15% QoQ to Bt1.6bn due to weak operations in Malaysia.
- Gross margin was strong at 9.2%, up from 8.8% in 3Q24, reflecting its cost controls and up from 7.4% in 2Q25, the low base when operations in Portugal were derailed for three weeks due to a power outage.
- Interest expense was Bt71mn, down 22% YoY and 13% QoQ, from lower financing cost. Tax expense was Bt16mn, down 5% YoY and 65% QoQ.
Earnings forecast maintained. 9M25 core earnings were Bt629mn, up 3% YoY and accounting for 75% of our full-year forecast. We maintain our full-year projection and expect earnings in 4Q25 to grow YoY off the low base in 4Q24 when they were dragged down by an impairment at Portugal operations but drop QoQ on seasonality. We maintain Neutral on AH with mid-2026 TP of Bt15, based on PE multiplier of 6.2x or -1SD of historical average since 2013.
Risks. 1) Economic uncertainty derailing auto demand, 2) semiconductor shortages that disrupt auto supply chains, 3) litigation cases. We see the key ESG risk as environmental issues (E), but AH is clearly moving on its sustainability development with committed targets.
